| How far will the
band travel?
Sahara are based in Norfolk but play all over the
UK and worldwide.
How long does Sahara play for?
Sahara’s standard set times are either 2 x 60 mins or 3 x 40
mins. Extra playing time or
specialist themed sets can also be provided.
Will I need to book a disco as
well as the band?
The choice is yours! Sahara can be booked without a disco as they
will happily leave an ipod of pre-mixed party music playing during
breaks. Alternatively, Sahara can provide their own
in-house manned DJ service to complement the live
music. Please refer to your booking agent for further info and
prices.
How does the band dress?
Sahara’s usual style of dress is glamorous evening
dress for the female lead singer and smart black suits and shirts for the men.
With advance notification, alternative outfits including formal
black tie and crazy party themes including 70s party
gear or “Sahara Says Relax” 80s costumes can be worn.
What are the different line-ups
for Sahara?
Sahara’s minimum line-up is the 5 piece, which includes drums,
keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar, female lead vocalist and 4 male
backing vocalists. Alternative line-ups can easily be arranged by
adding brass players, extra vocalists, percussionists, etc, as
required up to 10 piece. How much
does the band cost?
Pricing varies according to the size of line-up you
prefer, distance of travel, set-up and finish times and the length
of time you wish Sahara to play. Please contact your entertainment
booking agent for further details and a personal quote.

How loudly
does Sahara
play?
The band can play as loudly or quietly as you
like. Sahara have played at many functions of differing size, and
can tailor the volume to the size of the room and number of people.
For venues with sound limiters, the band can use an electronic drum
kit.
Does the band
have insurance against accidents and damage at venues?
Yes, Sahara holds public liability insurance of up to £5m and
all electrical equipment is fully PAT tested
Does the band supply all their
own equipment?
Sahara has a top quality 3.6kw PA sound system, designed
to comfortably suit audiences of up to 400 people.
Sahara's standard set up also includes stage lighting and their
in-house DJ service includes dancefloor lighting. For larger events, Sahara
can arrange an extension for the sound system. Please let your
entertainment booking agent know in
advance if there are any possible access problems (e.g. lack of
parking, stairs, small entrances) as this may affect the price and
set-up times. Sahara prefers two hours to set up and perform a
sound check, but this can be reduced to one hour, if necessary.
Does the band
have any specific requirements?
Sahara request a changing room suitable for the number of people
in the line-up you have chosen and a stage/setting up area of 6m x
3m. They also need a safe supply of electricity. The full band
including lighting draws up to 28 amps, so they need either 3 x
13amp separately fused mains sockets for indoor events or a
generator capable of supplying 32 amps single phase at 240V for
outdoor events, including marquees, (further details available on
request). Refreshments and soft drinks are also very much
appreciated, particularly if the band are required to arrive before
6.30pm to set up. |
