| How far will the
band travel?
Sahara will travel all over the UK and worldwide.
How long does Sahara play for?
Sahara’s standard set times are either 2 x 60 mins or 3 x 40 mins.
Extra playing time (eg. Early evening smooth
jazz sets, James Bond theme tunes or extra party and/or Scottish
Ceilidh dancing sets) can easily be accommodated upon request.
Will I need to book a disco as
well as the band?
The choice is yours! Sahara can be booked without a disco as they
will happily leave a CD of pre-mixed party music playing during
breaks. Alternatively, Sahara can provide their own
in-house DJ service to complement the live
music. Please refer to your booking agent for further info and
prices.
How does the band dress?
Sahara’s usual style of dress is glamorous evening
dress for the female lead singer and smart black suits and shirts for the men.
With advance notification, alternative outfits including formal
black tie, 70s party
gear or “Sahara Says Relax” 80s themed outfits can be worn.
What are the different line-ups
for Sahara?
Sahara’s minimum line-up is the 5 piece, which includes drums,
keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar, female lead vocalist and 4 male
backing vocalists. Alternative line-ups can easily be arranged by
adding brass players, extra vocalists, percussionists, etc, as
required. How much
does the band cost?
Pricing varies according to the size of line-up you
prefer, distance of travel, set-up and finish times and the length
of time you wish Sahara to play. Please contact the entertainment
booking agency who recommended Sahara to you for further details and
a personal quote. Sahara are committed to providing the very best in
quality live entertainment from start to finish. You can depend on

How loudly
does Sahara
play?
The band can play as loudly or quietly as you
like. Sahara have played at many functions of differing size, and
can tailor the volume to the size of the room and number of people.
Does the band
have insurance against accidents and damage at venues?
Yes, Sahara holds public liability insurance of up to £5m and
all electrical equipment is fully PAT tested
Does the band supply all their
own equipment?
Sahara has a top quality 3.6kw PA sound system, designed
to comfortably suit audiences of up to 400 people.
Sahara's standard set up also includes stage lighting and their
in-house DJ service includes dancefloor lighting. For larger events, Sahara
can hire an extension for the sound system, this is discussed and agreed with the customer
beforehand and then arranged by Sahara. Please let your
entertainment booking agency know in
advance if there are any possible access problems (eg. lack of
parking, stairs, small entrances) as this may affect the price and
setup times. Sahara prefers to have 2½ hours to ensure a safe
set up and thorough soundcheck can be carried out. Where this
is not possible, please let your entertainment booking agency know
as soon as possible, as alternative arrangements (eg. early setups
or additional crew) may incur additional cost.
Does the band
have any specific requirements?
Sahara request a changing room suitable for the number of people
in the line-up you have chosen and a stage/setting up area of 20 x
13 feet (6m x 4m), although smaller stage sizes can be accommodated
by setting up some equipment off either side of the stage. They also
need a safe supply of electricity. The full band including lighting
draws up to 28 amps, so they need either 3 x 13amp separately fused
mains sockets for indoor events or a generator capable of supplying
32 amps single phase at 240V for outdoor events, including marquees,
(further details available on request). Sahara also ask that
substantial hot
meals (including two vegetarian) be provided for band members and
crew, along with light refreshments and soft drinks for the whole
time they are on site, in order for them to perform at their best! |
